Istiaque Ahmed is a driven individual with a career characterized by significant contributions in education and research in both public and private universities. His career journey encompasses diverse roles, including teaching, research supervision, career counseling and leadership in academia. After completing his B.A and M.A in English literature at the University of Dhaka, he embarked on his teaching journey as a Lecturer in the Department of English at IUBAT. Over the years, he ascended the academic ladder, holding positions as a senior lecturer in Daffodil International University before joining ISU in 2024. He also teaches part-time in the department of International Relations, University of Dhaka. Istiaque has explored various fields during his undergrad. He worked in reputed national dailies such as The New Age and The Daily Star as a contributor. He also worked as a translator and copywriter in Drik, one of the leading Picture libraries in Bangladesh. Istiaque has presented in two international conferences. His interests include Post- Colonial literature, South Asian Literature, American Literature, Victorian Literature, Contemporary British Poetry, Contemporary American poetry and Films. Istiaque also has interest in designing ESL classroom activities. Moreover, he has recited his poems in Dhaka Lit fest 2023 and is also a regular participant in the Daily Star Slam poetry nights. He considers himself as an aspiring poet writing in Dhakaia dialect. Istiaque strongly encourages his students to actively participate in extra-curricular activities as he believes it will help them realize their personal and professional objectives.
